Performance Potential

cricket-WWD

Cricket does more than the gear bag drag during the trial -- she runs it down from our set-up.

Now that the puppies are old enough for their real personalities to come out, I’m excited by their working potential.

These will be the fifth generation of accomplished, titled, working dogs.

Of course it’s too early to be able to predict how they will turn out, but most of them already love to play tug, will follow a moving toy around when I take them out by themselves.

They’re happy and healthy, at not quite 7 weeks the boys all weigh about 9.5 lbs.  Based on their pedigree, I expect them to be moderate size, and they already have lots of bone.  They are well balanced and a little off square.

Based on their genetics they are likely to love to work, and be good at it.

Their mother, Cricket got her AWD, and WWD in a weekend, at her second trial. (And I was the one that blew it at the first one. She loves agility and has never done anything slowly. She’ll be in the obedience ring this spring, and will get back to tracking.

Both of Cricket’s parents have agility and water titles and each won an Award of Merit at the PWDCA Specialty.

Cricket's first day in the water was spent retrieving tennis balls.

She is out of CH C-Lions Sequel To The Ring, WWD, OA, OAJ, SSA, AD, NAF, AS, SRO (Sam)x CH Miraval’s Picture Perfect NA, OAJ, AWD. (Pixel)

Behind Sam and Pixel (the puppy’s grandparents) are two more generations of dogs with quite a collection of agility, obedience, tracking and water titles.
