About Miraval Portuguese Water Dog Puppies

I have PWDs because I love having these dogs and enjoy living and competing with them. I only breed occasionally because my goal is to breed healthy, athletic dogs with good temperaments - dogs I would like to have and live with. Since I can only live with, and train a limited number of dogs, and it is very difficult to find excellent homes that really want to have show dogs (before a dog is bred it really should have its Championship) I limit the number of litters I breed to those I know I will be able to keep a dog from, or place a show dog with someone who really wants to make that commitment.

Most of the puppies in this litter, as in most litters, will be placed in homes to be companions (not eligible for showing). They will have AKC Limited Registrations which will allow them to compete in all AKC events except conformation, and will require that they be spayed or neutered and not bred.

PWDs are not the dog for everyone, and each puppy is different. Part of the process of selecting homes, is making sure that the right puppy goes to the right home. I can't really make that decision until the puppies are born and I have a chance to evaluate them and their temperaments.
